Ishita Bansal
President
Ishita Bansal is a high school student with a multicultural background and a passion for connecting people. Born in India, she moved to the United States at the age of 12, navigating the challenges of cultural transition and self-discovery. Her experiences living in different environments—first in Massachusetts and now in Florida—have shaped her appreciation for diversity and global collaboration.
Growing up, she immersed herself in activities such as swimming, dancing, basketball, field hockey, tennis, and yearbook while balancing academics and creative pursuits. These experiences taught her resilience, teamwork, and the importance of embracing new opportunities.
Inspired by her journey, she founded the International Collaborative League (ICL) to foster understanding, celebrate cultures, and build bridges between people from all walks of life. Her goal is to empower others to embrace diversity and create meaningful connections across the globe.

The Journey of a Dreamer: An Indian Girl’s Path to America is a heartfelt memoir by Ishita Bansal, an inspiring young woman who embarked on a transformative journey to the United States at just 12 years old. Leaving behind the bustling streets of New Delhi and the comforts of home, Ishita navigated the challenges of adapting to a new country, a different culture, and a prestigious boarding school, all while dealing with the emotional complexities of homesickness, identity struggles, and the weight of expectations.
Through personal stories and reflections, Ishita shares how she overcame obstacles, including the loneliness of being far from home, the academic pressures of an elite American school, and the difficulty of finding her place in a foreign land. As a passionate athlete and scholar, she went from being a top student and sports star in India to leading her varsity tennis team in the U.S., all while staying rooted in her Indian heritage.
This inspiring memoir is a testament to resilience, self-discovery, and the importance of family and inner strength. Ishita’s journey is not just about surviving in a new country; it’s about thriving, growing, and embracing her unique identity. Perfect for readers who enjoy stories of personal growth, cultural exploration, and overcoming adversity, The Journey of a Dreamer offers a powerful message: no matter where you come from, you can find your place in the world by staying true to yourself.
